Berlin-based production project BLYNE further assert themselves as top tier artists with their latest release, out via tastemaker label Majestic Casual.
The duo is back with another hit song entitled ‘Don’t’ You Ever’ after receiving a great reception for previous release ‘ Waste Time ft. James Chatburn’.
Featuring the silky smooth vocals of London singer CHU, ‘Don’t You Ever' is an enjoyable mix of melodic instruments and blissful singing. Delicately put together in its arrangement, the track consists of a soft and mellow chorus which combines naturally with the upbeat production to create a unique interpretation of contemporary pop and RnB. CHU’s British accented vocals, reminiscent of artists such as Jorja Smith and Mahalia, lend a perfect angelic ambiance to the track - a must add to your playlist. Merging R&B with electronic, this track is about embracing yourself and truly loving who you are, despite what others think.
As CHU writes in her second verse: “This time I’m not chasing no perfection / no time to love your own complexions,” it’s all about trying to promote self-love and encourage listeners to not pay too much attention to what others may say, as CHU rightfully says, ‘it’s not just gold and glitter’!
On their decision to pick CHU for this collaboration, BLYNE comment:
“We write this on a trip to London, "Don't You Ever" was created in two days! Chu's lyrics revolve around the concept of over-thinking, and constantly being under pressure as a young female.”
On their upcoming debut EP, BLYNE (Jan Hammele & Andreas Hube) collaborate with international vocalists like NOVAA, L Devine, James Chatburn and B O K E H, whose musical origins range from pop & electronic music to R’n’B & Soul. The result is an eclectic, yet homogenous and highly personal work, recorded between Berlin and London.
