19-year old Rylan Talerico, a self-taught musician/producer, performs and records as Brother Sundance.
Rylan began playing the drums at the age of two and spent hours at his kit teaching himself his favorite songs as a child. Later, as a teenager, he picked up the guitar and began to sing, which eventually culminated in creating a punk-blues band, Wallace, with a group of friends. Wallace gained quick popularity, playing the South Florida underground circuit heavily for a year, and winning a Song of The Year award from The New Times Magazine.
But as Wallace gained in local awareness and was gigging several days a week, Rylan’s personal musical interests were evolving rapidly as he explored writing, recording and producing a new alt/pop sound. That exploration eventually led him to disband Wallace, and Brother Sundance was born.
Brother Sundance was a play on a family nickname—his parents and sister often called him derivations of the title Brother, to denote his role in the family. Brother Sundance was a frequent moniker and one that Rylan felt represented his new path forward. A path that would blur the lines of alternative, pop, DIY with his heavy interest in art, design and business in a new alchemy of a modern performing artist.
As a prolific artist, the Brother Sundance visual story—original artwork, photography, album art and merchandise design is all created or directed by Rylan himself. He sees these as integral to the music experience. Likewise, as a solo recording artist, he writes and produces all of the music, including playing every instrument.
For live performances he is grateful to be joined by an incredible group of talented musicians and friends to bring his music to life on stage. His love of performing is evident in his high energy set. “A performance is a way to bring together past and present. The past is the album, the recorded instance of each song which remain unchanged. The present is the show, the moment at hand, the audience, the venue. Living in that moment is important to me, and I love it.” he says of his show.
The Brother Sundance debut EP, Honey, is out now. The single Blind, has already been streamed over 6.5 million times, and he was selected as Apple Music’s New Artist of the Week. He’s also been featured on the Best of the Week Playlist several times and was named as a top 25 viral band in Canada by Spotify.
Los-Angeles producer and electro-R&B virtuoso Hoodboi, personally known as Roger Schami, releases “Tip Of My Tongue” with TZAR today on Fool’s Gold Records.
Hoodboi flexes his songwriting muscles on the new single, ditching the high-energy safety net so many electronic producers rely upon and replacing it with a confident, funky minimalism. Meanwhile, Russian songstress TZAR provides the perfect vocal counterpoint for their infectious, genre-less collaboration.
This single follows Hoodboi’s return to the limelight last month with “Glide”, a lush and glossy single featuring Australian favorite Tkay Maidza, and Hoodboi’s first new music in over a year. TZAR also returns to Fool’s Gold following an energetic collaboration with Falcons on “All Over Again.”
Hoodboi told NYLON in an email: "I've been writing music with Tzar for a couple years now. I knew we landed on something special when we wrote Tip Of My Tongue one night at her apartment. This track was one of the starting points for the EP and helped shape the rest of the songs. I'm happy to present Tip Of My Tongue featuring Tzar."
Hoodboi is an all around creative force, carrying his prominence in music and design into the fashion world as the co-founder of ATHLETIXX - an LA-based music and clothing collective showcasing talents and styles from Promnite, FALCONS, and KITTENS. He’s now gearing up faor a massive 2018 with the release of his second official EP ‘Breathing Room,’ soon to be released via A-Trak’s imprint Fool’s Gold Records.
Keep Up With Hoodboi & TZAR

Released on Eskimo Recordings back in January, Greek producer NTEIBINT and his long time musical partner Σtella's 'A State Nearby' quickly found favour with DJs from around the world, from Australia’s Aston Shuffle to Mexico's Future Feelings via Grimsby's Bill Brewster.
Now giving the track a fresh rub Eskimo have brought in German producer Adam Port (Keinemusik) to offer up his own interpretation in the shape of his 'Calypso Remix'.
"My first contact with NTEIBINT and Σtella was via Ewan Pearson's remix for "Hide In",
it was one of those tracks that I played in every set for such a long time, so I was pretty happy when
the remix request from Eskimo came in," recalls Adam.
And as for the remix's unusual title, he explains "When I was looking through the stems I found these steel drums in the "unused files" folder for the original track. NTEIBINT had recorded them but for some reason didn't use them in the end but they were such a great match to the beat I'd already laid down I had to find a use for them. They gave the track such a distinctive sound that once it was all in place the name "Calypso Remix" just felt obvious really."
The end result sees the original's heart melting disco vibe replaced with a shuffling, staccato beat, pulsating electronics and of course those steel drums adding a summery, tropical touch to the track. Already picking up a play on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show Adam’s remix is sure to follow in the original’s footsteps into record bags of discerning DJs the world over.

Based between London & Brighton, MOONOVERSUN have produced an anthem to self-love and empowerment on GIRLS/BOYS. Accompanied by self-directed visuals, the track teases the listener with hook after hook while remaining unpredictable, with beats and vibrant synths coming at you from all angles.
Isaac and Sofia feel that “GIRLS/BOYS is a pop anthem you can party to. We feel like empowerment and self-love is important for everyone. For us the song represents a fun and playful side to music - it’s about not worrying what others think and just having a good time”.
On producing the video: “We spent a lot of time working with colour and projections in the shots, using different combinations as a way of representing the changing mood of the track”.
With a striking, colourful aesthetic and a disjointed-yet-catchy sound, the duo draw influence from the likes of Charli XCX, Rihanna and Cashmere Cat. They are an equal creative partnership with both Isaac and Sofia writing, producing, and performing their music as well as directing their own videos. Their live performance is an intense experience, with flashes of colour, strobe lights and visceral visuals. If you attend one of their infamous WONK club nights (a collaboration with VICE) you can expect a room full of balloons, bubbles and a general lack of inhibition. Recent guest performers include Wharfwhit (Kero Kero Bonito), Gnucci, Kane West and Zoee.
MOONOVERSUN emphasise the importance of imagination in their art stating, “our music is a multimedia explosion; our visual aesthetic is just as important to us as the music itself – we want to represent ourselves within both elements”.
Fazli has some serious stories to tell. His musical suitcase is packed full of real-life experiences that will stay with him forever. As a youngster, the Afghani-born singer fled his native land, full of conflict and war for Russia and then Scandinavia. As a consequence, his music combines styles from different cultures, as he draws from his universal background.
From the first pulsating beat on ‘Get Away’ Fazli’s influences are evident. The heartfelt lyrics combine with a musical aesthetic that although a little kitsch manages to remain hopeful, stay intriguing and evoke a feel-good, uplifting musical feel.
As the singer/songwriters tell us “Behind every dark cloud, the sun is shining. Get away from your comfort zone.”
Fazli was born into an Afghan musical family. His father was a singer from an Afghanistan rich in music heritage; a melting pot for Persian, Indian, folk and popular music. From a young age, Fazli was exposed to these many types of music and grew up absorbing even more new musical influences. He wrote the track ’Get Away’ at a point in his life where troubles and worries were weighing heavy, and as the title suggests he wanted to escape from all of that. Music was his escape. Let it be your escape too!
Fazli ‘Get Away’ is out now via Disco:wax and the mighty 3Beat in the UK & Ireland.
